A top rate 2 year old, Utterly Cool missed his entire 3 year old campaign and is now poised for his first start in over a year. He's from the same talented but injury-prone family as Hollinger. Let's see if he's the same horse now as he was 2 years ago.

I think you mean he is from the same talented but injury-prone family as Ghost Fleet. I never expected Utterly Cool to be a Plate horse (his pedigree is speed on top of speed) but I thought he could have been a damn good 3 yr old sprinter ala El Brujo but obviously he never recovered from getting hurt. I am being an armchair trainer here but I am not sure why they're starting him off in a 8.5 furlong race on turf... Regardless, I wish the horse well, lets hope he stays sound this time.

Yup, sorry. That's what I meant. *LOL*  I've been staying up too late watching the Olympics.

I don't know why he's in an 8.5 f race either, but I'm curious to see what he does regardless.

Utterly Cool finally raced today and finished an impressive third in a 8.5 furlongs turf race. Utterly Cool set the early pace and held on to be a clear third. No doubt about it, this is a talented horse. If they keep him sound he could be a real player at Woodbine this season, probably in mile/sprints on turf. I have to think he is better going short but who knows...

I thought the same thing. He ran great but the race was a touch too long for him.  I think he's a miler. All the same, you have to love what you saw from him today.
